I don't really feel sorry for Bush when he gets to look bold faced at the entire Judicial system and say "I'm sorry you feel that way about the NSA spying program, but frankly, I don't have to explain why I violated the law. So quit trying to prosecute me. Why? Because I said so."

Now, now, Bryan...we don't have all the facts, don't be quick to judge. This is a super-mega-ultra complicated issue, one that I'm sure is evenly argued from both sides.
I concur with a gentleman I heard yesterday: "If the NSA is spying on me, they'll be bored out of their mind."
regardless of how complicated it is, when some people say boo and others say "these aren't the spies you're looking for," it should ultimately be up to the judicial system to weed it all out. instead of leaving it to the courts, however, bush's administration is invoking this "state secrets privilege" in an attempt to take it out of the courts altogether. why even pretend this is a democracy with checks and balances? let's just declare bush king of the world and get it over with.
This is a republic Bryan, not a democracy.

oh yeah. sorry. i forgot. we went into iraq to spread republicanism.
No, not 'republicanism' if you mean 'the ideals heald by the Republican party' but a republic as in the Roman Republic. You know, one in which we get to elect our representatives and then have no say in anything else.
If this were a democracy we would have votes on everything, showing the 'true will' of the people.
Like that made sense.
