(The following was first shared as an email update directly from Tim Henderson/Luminous. Many of you, like our friends at Cedar Lane, drink Luminous Coffee at home but don't buy directly from the site, so you may have missed the update)
Friends of CUDA,
You are receiving this email because you have made a purchase of Luminous Coffee. First, I want to thank you for your purchase. Part of every pound of coffee sold has gone to support the work of CUDA and Team Arequipa as they minister in Peru. Since 2014 we have sold 4600 pounds of coffee. If you are not familiar with their work, please visit their websites: cudaperu.org or teamarequipa.net.
Second, I want to inform you that Luminous Coffee is now based in Denver, CO. My wife and I are the directors of a new transitional home for young adults transitioning from life on the streets to a sustainable life off the streets. We are working with Providence Network (providencenetwork.org). Our home is called The Silver Lining House. The biggest change for Luminous Coffee is we have a new roaster. Our roaster is Purple Door Coffee (purpledoorcoffee.com). They employ and offer job training to young adults who are transitioning off the streets. So when you buy Luminous Coffee, you will be helping to provide jobs for these young adults in Denver.
Also, check out Dry Bones Denver (drybonesdenver.org). Dry bones is an outreach ministry to street kids in Denver. They partner with Providence Network and Purple Door Coffee to refer street kids who will benefit from housing and job training.
Third, I want you to know I just received a new shipment of beans from Peru. It is a great time to place an order and continue your support of CUDA and now Purple Door Coffee.
